What we record, and why

Last updated 24 August 2026

This notice covers the Hungerford Fishery members' site at hungerford.risedaisy.com and the Hungerford Fishery app, which is the same site in an app wrapper. It does not cover the Town and Manor's main website, or Rise Daisy's own app.

Who holds your information

The Town and Manor of Hungerford and Liberty of Sanden Fee (charity number 238379) decides what member information is held here and why. Rise Daisy, operated by Fly Industries Ltd., builds and runs the platform on the club's behalf and holds the information on its instructions.

In practice that means: ask the club about your membership record, and the club will ask us about anything technical.

What we record

To let you in. Your email address. There is no password — signing in sends you a link and a six-digit code. We keep a cookie on your device for about six months so you are not asked to sign in every visit.

Because you are a Rod. Your name, your email address and your membership details, as the club holds them.

Because you fished. The catches and trips you log — date, beat, species, size, the fly you used, any notes and any photographs you attach. Hatch observations, if you record them. The River Keeper can also enter catches from paper returns on your behalf.

Because you asked us something. Anything you send through “Contact us”, an access request, a place on the waiting list, or a guest ticket application — including the message itself, your name and email address, and any photograph you attach.

Because you paid. What was bought, when, and whether it has been used. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach us. If you add a ticket to Apple Wallet, that pass carries your name and what it entitles you to.

Who can see your catches

Your catch records are visible to other members and to the River Keeper — that is the point of a shared catch book, and it is how the fishery's season records are kept. They are not public, and they are not shown outside the fishery.

Anything you send the club privately — feedback, an application, an access request — is seen by the club, not by other members.

Cookies, and what is measured

Some cookies are unavoidable: the ones that keep you signed in and remember that you are a member. Without them the site cannot work.

Beyond that, this site currently loads Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, which record page views along with your device, browser and an approximate location worked out from your internet address. They are not used to identify you by name.

If you would rather not be measured at all, browser-level tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop both, and nothing on the site will break.

Who else handles it

The database and the site itself run on Supabase and Vercel, both in Frankfurt. Payments go through Stripe. Email is sent through Resend. Analytics is described above. If the app crashes, a diagnostic report may go to Sentry. Each of these handles the information only to provide that service.

How long it is kept

Membership records last as long as your membership, and a reasonable period afterwards for the club's own accounts.

Catch records are the fishery's history — stocking decisions and season statistics depend on them — so they are kept as a record of the water rather than of you, and are separated from your name if you leave.

Correspondence is kept while it is being dealt with and for a sensible period after.

What you can ask for

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is used. Ask through “Contact us” at the foot of any page and the club will deal with it.

You can also close your account yourself, from Your Account. That removes your name, your email addresses, your photograph and anything you have sent the club. Your catches stay in the Fishery's records as described above, listed against “Former Rod”.

If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change with it.
