A Sil-side trout river rising near O Incio and crossing Terra de Lemos to join the Sil below Monforte. The Cabe is one of inland Lugo's better wild brown trout rivers — slate-and-schist geology, generally clear amber water and a steady gradient that keeps pool-riffle structure honest. Best fished from late April through June in the middle reaches above Monforte; the lower river slows considerably and is more coarse-fish water.

In Galicia's Atlantic trout rivers, resident browns feed through a spring build-up of olives and other up-wings into a long summer of caddis and small buzzers, with frequent spates and cool water keeping fish active; terrestrials from lush banks and meadows become important once levels settle and the banks green up.
