About this water

A pair of lochs set dramatically below the Old Man of Storr on Skye's Trotternish Ridge — some of the most spectacular scenery on the island. The lochs hold wild brown trout and Arctic charr. Fishing is from the bank among the basalt columns and landslip debris that makes the Storr famous. The trout are modest in size but the setting is extraordinary. The lochs are high and exposed — weather can change rapidly and the wind funnels through the gap between the cliffs. An atmospheric place to fish that rewards persistence and a willingness to brave the elements.
