Evening session looks promising at Bohernabreena Reservoirs
Water temperature is the limiting factor today, not the wave. Fish dawn or dusk if you go at all, and handle everything with extra care.

The plan
Plan A

Start with Bibio (10-12) — on the bob / top dropper. As evening approaches, switch to dries or emergers if you see surface activity.

Plan B

Fish early and late, try deeper during the heat of the day with a fast-sinking line.

About this water

Two reservoirs sitting in the Glenasmole valley south of Dublin, near enough to the city to be a surprise. The lower is stocked each year and holds the better fish, averaging just over half a pound with the odd one to four and a half; the upper is larger, its trout smaller but more plentiful. Fly-only, by Ministerial order, which spares you any agonising over method. Dublin City Council manages the fishery — you need a permit, or membership of the Dublin Trout Anglers or the Dodder Anglers.

Hatches & food

Upland Dublin-mountain reservoirs in a limestone valley but fed by acidic moorland — chironomid buzzer, midges and terrestrials dominate, with sparse lake olive and a useful summer sedge for the stocked and small wild trout.
