About a kilometre of shallower, more physically challenging River Dun water upstream of Hungerford Marsh, entirely within Freeman's Marsh SSSI. A classic small chalk stream — shrimp and sedge by day, blue-winged olives at dusk — with a healthy wild-trout population and shoals of grayling for the autumn angler.
Rules
Within Freeman's Marsh SSSI. Syndicate / nominated-rod access; shallow, physically demanding water. The only beat on the fishery where wading is permitted; barbless hooks are mandatory here. No right of access during the close season. Daily limit 4 trout (13"/33cm, 1½oz/400g+), max 2 from any one beat except Lower Meadow; return undersized fish quickly if undamaged.

Methods
Fishing is upstream only with a dry-fly. Nymph fishing is only permitted from 1st July. Wet flies, lures or goldheads may not be used, and no hook larger than size 12.
