About this beat
Two linked stretches — the main channel and the Back Stream — shaded enough to fish well on bright days, with sedges taking over once the mayfly finish. Only Commoners may fish on down to Denford Bridge.
Rules
Commoner-rights and paying-rod syndicate water, not a day ticket. Only Commoners may fish the east side of Duffer's Pool Bridge downstream to Denford. The private drive to Dun Mill is out of bounds to cars. Trout season from 1 May; grayling to end of December for members. No right of access during the close season. No wading, except on Freeman's Marsh (Beat 12). Daily limit 4 trout (13"/33cm, 1½oz/400g+), max 2 from any one beat except Lower Meadow; return undersized fish quickly if undamaged.

Methods
Fishing is upstream only with a dry-fly. Nymph fishing is only permitted from 1st July. Wet flies, lures or goldheads may not be used, and no hook larger than size 12.
